PCOS managment isn’t something you can just ‘set and forget’—it requires ongoing care. Because it’s a chronic condition, ignoring it can lead to more serious health issues down the road, including diabetes, heart disease, and non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. A diagnosis can feel overwhelming because it’s something you’ll need to manage for life.
I won’t sugarcoat it: there’s no easy way to live with PCOS. The kind of care we need often goes against mainstream health advice and societal norms. But I’m here to make this journey easier, more natural, and less burdensome.
I’m a big believer in systems. Finding systems that work for YOU is crucial for long-term success. A plan is great, but it’s useless if you don’t implement it. I believe self-care is about finding the balance between what you should do and what you’ll actually do.
For me, organization plays a big role in this. I’d rather invest the mental effort something up once than have to make the same effort every time.
I’ve noticed that people with PCOS rarely lack self-discipline. Most have been dieting since puberty and know the self-hatred motivational speech by heart. That’s why my approach is different. Life is simply harder for people with PCOS than it is for those without a chronic condition. Cravings are stronger, energy is lower, and it often feels like your body is working against you. I don’t believe in using negativity as motivation.
If a system isn’t working for you, we’ll find one that does! Yes, some willpower is involved, but it doesn’t have to be the Herculean effort it’s been in the past. We’ll build habits that become second nature, and once those are in place, we’ll continue implementing new strategies that improve your health while staying realistic.
A big part of what I do as a PCOS coach is help you strategize in both effective and sustainable ways. Brainstorming is a crucial step, and having an experienced, understanding thought partner can make all the difference. Having someone to check in with regularly also helps these systems stick so they don’t become just another phase.
If you don’t have someone in your life who can step into this role, I’d love to work with you! You can schedule a free 15-minute consultation, and we can get started.
Always rooting for you,
Liv
